Scribblings

I write. Daily. Often. Constantly. For years, I have been followed by a trail of scraps of papers with various stories, outlines, character developments, plots, and names. Here are my current projects I often talk about on the blog. If any interest you, let me know.

10p

Eighteen year old C arrives at the University of Glasgow, Scotland to the challenges of too many hills, endless stairs, broken shower heads, and rain, rain, rain. To her dismay, the university requires enrollment in a creative writing class, taught by G. He takes a special interest in her unique writing skills, and renews her love of the written word. She falls in love with a professor, Scottish history, a boy who loves science fictions, and her umbrella (or her raincoat ).

Progress: currently in beta reader phase.

Summer Story

C wants to forget high school. After a year of college, she's changed her appearance thinking she won't be recognized when she returns back home. But, N would know her anywhere. She keeps turning up in places he'd never think she'd go, and finds his best friend B has set his sights on her and he always gets what he wants. To make matters worst, ex-girlfriend A wants B back and is determined to repair the damages she created in her senior year of high school.

Progress: currently in beta reader phase.

RAB (series of four books)

Book One: G is Popular, with a capital P. And hates it. She wants real friends, not one that simply like her for her name.

Book Two: A always has a plan. Her life is one huge plan and one huge dramatic new story waiting to happen. Till she takes on a story that might just ruin all her well laid plans.

Book Three: T is a happy-go-lucky kind of guy. All he wants is to go about his business and call it a day. T begins to realize he might just have to deal with having a bit of drama in his life, as everything seems to happen to him all at once.

Book Four: D has a terrible secret. Well, several really. She's smart (like genius smart), does her homework nights (only to hide it under her bed) and hates the pressures of popularity. One day, though, something occurs to put all her secrets on display for the whole school to see.

Progress: Book One is ready for BETA READERS. Books Two - Four are in editing stages

VAR (series of four books, continuing the story of the characters from RAB)

Book One: G is no longer Popular. She meets a guy, falls for him then discovers a massive secret that threatens her reputation and her budding romance.

Book Two: A is on the top of her game. A chance comes up to head back to North  High School once again to do a follow up story that won A many awards. She jumps on the chance, failing to realize that P might have other ideas for her.

Book Three: T is haunted. He's been haunted for years, but not by who people think he'd be haunted by. He stares at the empty house next door and misses someone he ought not to. Everything always happens to T all at once, so he's not the least bit surprised when his life blows up in his face when P turns up, his father arrives in town and A and D choose this moment to pick a fight with him.

Book Four: D is not speaking to anyone. She doesn't have the time to deal with the choices they've all made and the fact they fail to realize the mistakes they've made. She's got more important things to do, like homework and figuring out what college she wants to attend. She got in everywhere she applied. If only she had someone to ask for help...

Progress: being rewritten/written

Four Girls (series of four/five books. One complete)

Summer is a disaster. R can't find a job, she's short on money, and worried about her upcoming semester abroad. She volunteers to help at a summer camp, and meets C. Has she found her dream guy?

Only S knows what goes on in her life and that's the way she likes it. She keeps her relationships artificial and shallow. She likes P and believes they are on the same page until he goes and says those three little words that ruin everything.

C dyes her hair orange before setting off on a tour of Europe. Within hours of landing in London, she freaks out and cannot imagine why she thought she could tackle this adventure by herself. But, she discovers she can meet people, make friends and fall in love when she pushes on and tours the sights of her dreams.

E loves puppets. She loves imagining the characters, building them and creating performances. Her one goal in life is to become the female Jim Henson, and share her talents with others. Her summer job teaching kids math, science and reading makes her parents believe she is finally thinking about a useful life career. Can she convince them before summer's end that puppets aren't just for entertainment and really can enhance learning?

Progress: Book One written, in beta reader stage. Book Two, and Five are in writing stage, Book three isn't even started.

EH & DM Stories (Three separate books for each)

E has a problem with talking. She can't seem to do it and goes into Quiet Mode, mostly when she most wants to impress the world around her. This leads the world to believe she's shy, quiet, and nice. Only E knows the truth about herself and struggles with trying to make the world see her as she wishes.

D has had a strange life. Currently, he has no clue where he's going or what he wants to do. Till he meets E. Just one smile sets the course for his life and he figures out that he ought to follow what he's passionate about: movies.

Progress:  EH Book one and two are in editing, book three in writing. DM  Book one and two are editing, while book three is in planning.)
